Last Updated: April 21, 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Cliara platform ("Platform") operated by Cliara Technologies Ltd ("we," "our," or "Cliara").
Our Details:
- Company Name: Cliara Technologies Ltd
- Company Number: 17148521
- Registered Address: 6 Pagett Close, Hucknall, NG15 7US, United Kingdom
- Contact Email: hello@cliara.co.uk
By using Cliara to search for dental practices or book appointments, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. Eligibility and Age Restrictions
2.1 Minimum Age
You must be at least 16 years old to use Cliara and book appointments.
If you are under 16, a parent or guardian must book appointments on your behalf using their own contact details.
2.2 Parental Guidance
If you are under 18, please ensure you have permission from a parent or guardian before booking an appointment.
We recommend that individuals under 18 inform their parents or guardians about any dental appointments booked through the Platform.
2.3 Age Confirmation
By booking an appointment, you confirm that you meet the age requirements stated above.
3. What Cliara Does (and Doesn't Do)
3.1 Booking Platform Only
Cliara is a booking platform and practice directory. We:
- Connect you with dental practices in your area
- Allow you to view practice information, services, and pricing
- Facilitate appointment bookings
- Send booking confirmations on behalf of practices
3.2 We Are NOT a Healthcare Provider
Important: Cliara does not:
- Provide dental or medical services
- Employ dentists or dental professionals
- Control the quality, safety, or outcomes of dental treatment
- Make clinical decisions or recommendations
Dental practices listed on Cliara are independent businesses. They are solely responsible for the dental care they provide.
3.3 No Medical Advice
Information on the Platform is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute medical or dental advice. Always consult a qualified dental professional for diagnosis and treatment.
4. Using the Platform
4.1 Account Creation (Optional)
You can book appointments as a guest without creating an account. However, creating an account allows you to:
- Save your details for faster future bookings
- View your booking history
- Leave reviews for practices you've visited
4.2 Accurate Information
You must provide accurate and complete information when booking appointments:
- Full name
- Valid email address
- Working mobile phone number
Providing false information may result in your booking being cancelled or your account being suspended.
4.3 Account Security
If you create an account:
- Keep your password secure and confidential
- Do not share your account with others
- Notify us immediately at hello@cliara.co.uk if you suspect unauthorized access
You are responsible for all activity on your account.
5. Booking Appointments
5.1 Booking Confirmation
When you book an appointment through Cliara:
- You receive a booking confirmation via email and SMS
- The practice receives your contact details (name, email, phone) and appointment details
- The practice may contact you directly to confirm or modify the appointment
Your booking confirmation is NOT a guarantee of an appointment. The practice may need to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., dentist illness, emergency).
5.2 Payment
Cliara does not process patient payments. You will pay for dental services directly at the practice, either at the time of your appointment or as per the practice's payment policy.
Pricing displayed on the Platform is provided by practices and is for informational purposes only. The final cost of your treatment may vary based on your specific needs.
5.3 Cancellations and No-Shows
By You (Patient)
You can cancel your appointment at any time by contacting the practice directly (their contact details are in your booking confirmation email).
We strongly recommend giving at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel. Practices rely on your attendance and may have cancellation policies that apply.
Individual practices may set their own cancellation requirements (e.g., 12 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours notice). This will be stated in your booking confirmation.
Repeated no-shows without notice may result in your account being suspended.
By Practice
If a practice needs to cancel your appointment (e.g., due to emergency or dentist unavailability):
- They will contact you directly as soon as possible
- Cliara is not liable for practice-initiated cancellations
- We will assist in facilitating rebooking at the same or a different practice if requested
6. Reviews
6.1 Leaving Reviews
After your appointment, you may leave a review of the practice on Cliara. Reviews must:
- Be based on your genuine personal experience
- Be honest and truthful
- Relate only to the practice and treatment you received
- Not contain offensive, defamatory, or discriminatory language
6.2 Prohibited Review Content
You must NOT post reviews that:
- Contain false or misleading information
- Include personal attacks or harassment
- Disclose private information about dental staff or other patients
- Violate any law (e.g., defamation, copyright infringement)
- Include promotional content or spam
- Discuss legal disputes or pending litigation
6.3 Platform Liability for Reviews
Cliara is not liable for the content of user reviews.
Reviews represent the opinions of individual patients, not Cliara. We do not verify the accuracy of reviews or endorse any statements made in them.
Section 5 of the Defamation Act 2013 (UK): As a platform hosting user-generated content, we are not liable for defamatory reviews unless we fail to respond appropriately after being notified.
6.4 Review Moderation
Practices may flag reviews as inappropriate or defamatory. Flagged reviews are manually reviewed by our team within 48 hours. We will:
- Remove reviews that clearly violate these Terms
- Keep reviews that express legitimate opinions, even if negative
We do not remove reviews simply because a practice disagrees with them.
6.5 Your Reviews After Account Deletion
If you delete your account, your reviews remain on the Platform but your name is changed to "Anonymous" to protect your privacy. The review content stays visible because other users rely on it when choosing a practice.
If you want a review fully removed, email hello@cliara.co.uk with the review details.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You must NOT:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
- Book appointments with no intention of attending (serial no-shows)
